Ever since growing up in Zurich and Geneva Switzerland, surrounded by art galleries, jewelers, and artist workshops, I have been drawn to painting and creating jewelry. My jewelry is informal, playful and draws attention to the wearer. I use Sterling or Fine Silver, Gold, or a combination of silver and copper. Often the centerpiece is a natural precious or semi-precious stone or small rocks found on the beach or in the mountains. I also love glass collected on the beach or beautiful art glass. Each piece is unique, fabricated in my studio in Newport Beach, California or cast by me at the Irvine Fine Arts Center.
Having spent much of my life at the bench in Scientific Research, I approach each piece of jewelry like a creative experiment. I’ll never find joy in a routine of production.
I admire and strive for the elegant simplicity of Japanese and Scandinavian, as well as ancient archeological designs, but often can’t resist to add a flourish from nature, such as a cast leaf or succulent bud.
